Van Dijke’s long experience in the washing of produce like potatoes, carrots and other root vegetables, moved Van Dijke to develop a system for additional water treatment. Sedimentable solids, like sand/clay, will be separated from the water without using any chemicals!
The used washwater (mud discharge from the washing line) is pumped to a water-filtration screen. This screen separates the organic particles, like vines, leaves, bigger sand particles etc. from the water. The water flows from this filtration screen into the sedimentation compartment, meanwhile the organic particles will be removed by the filtration screen belt.
The system is based on the natural aspect of difference in specific weight between the wash water and the sedimentable material (like sand/clay).
The settled soil will be removed from the unit by use of a shaftless auger system. This maintenance free system offers a 100% biological solution for separating soil from water and the water can be reused in your washing line.
With this water recycling unit, in combination with the water filtration screen, the water can be reused in your washing line and reduces the water consumption to an absolute minimum.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Van Dijke water recycling units are the perfect solution to create a (closed) recycling system for the easy handling of your sludge/mud, wash water and organic material, without using any chemical additives! This unit ensures you a hassle free control of your water and sludge discharge system.
The Van Dijke Water Recycling systems will offer you a perfect solution where no ponds are available or locations where water is hard to get. The system is built up from a main unit (Tare separator) for separating soil/water, a water filtration screen (for removing organical particles) and a sludge discharge system with dirt/sludge loops.
By using these units, you can save up to 95 % water in the line. The use of fresh water in a washing line with a capacity of 40 t/hrs. is about 2 – 4 m³.
The recycled water can be stored in a separate tank and sent from there back into the washing line or to an outside channel.

Water separation screen
Van Dijke’s waste-water separation screens offers you a successful system for removing organic material such as leaves, skin parts, etc., and sludge out of your used processing water. The unit is perfect to keep your settling basin/tank clean. The removal of organic material is a good start for recycling water and avoids a bad smell In the pond.
How does the water separation screen work?
The water separation screen is an innovative alternative for the traditional rotary waste separation screens. The system has a minimum of bearings, only four, which are placed outside the hopper. The advantage of this is that it is very easy in maintenance. Besides that, the system has a conveyer frame directly integrated into the unit for a minimum of used parts/components. So the machine is a solid solution for water recycling, is easy to clean and has usually a long lifetime.

Bucket Dredger

How does the Bucket Dredger work?
The bucket dredger is mainly used for handling the sludge and bring it into a truck or bin/tank. The system is able to process liquid form (water) as well as thick sludge, dirt and stones. The dredger is equipped with a conveyer belt with steel buckets, mounted on 3 extra strong nok-belts. The bucket dredger is a smart design which means that all the driven parts are placed outside of the machine. To simplify maintenance, the machine is designed so that all important parts of the system can be easily reached. Also various inspection covers are placed for easy access and cleaning purposes.

Float sink seperator UDZ
The ‘Van Dijke’ patented UDZ Float-sink separators are designed for separating plastics with each other and / or separation of plastics and interfering substances. The unit is build up from stainless steel or galvanized/powdercoated steel.
How does the float sink seperator work?
The unit is equipped with augers or a propulsion drive and two conveyer belts. The unseparated product will be brougth in the machine at the middle of the unit. Heavy material will sink to the bottom, where the augers transport them to the heavy product out-feed conveyor. The lighter material will go by the water-flow, which is caused by the augers or propulsion drive, to the product lighter material out-feed conveyer. This machines will perfectly fit into a separation line.

Peeling Machine
Van Dijke’s Peeling Machine: for an optimal peeling result! Van Dijke developed a peeling machine for the peeling of bulb and root vegetables.
How does the Peeling Machine work?
The machine contains a peeling roller bed with different kinds of rolls with bronze ball bearing houses, combined with the adjustable spring pressure for optimal results! Besides that, the machine has a protective cover, adjustable sprinkle-installation and if required a drip system to keep the peeling rollers clean. There is an extra possibility by making an adjustable band on the peeling machine. Then the bulbs that are already counted, can be removed from the rollerbed. An other addition is a mobile discharge belt for dirt. This belt drains leaf- and carrot residues from under the machines. Besides that the machine has a stroke distribution of peeling rolls. By turning on the stroke distribution the rolls will rotate left further than right. That way the machine drains the dirt through the bed for a cleaner result.
